About Us

Dinia Smith, Jamaican national and creator of “Island Delights Everything Sauce,” with her daughter and partner Kenisha Bridgemohan moved to the Winchester, Virginia area in 1999 and opened Island Delights Caribbean Restaurant in May of 2008. Smith opened the restaurant after sharing her delicious creations during informal catering engagements. As a small family run eatery, Island Delights Caribbean Restaurant, located at 805 N. Loudoun Street, embodies the true feeling of being in the Caribbean with its island influenced cuisine. Smith is the main cook in her restaurant, and serves a variable menu each day, while Bridgemohan handles all financial aspect of the business.

Smith’s Jerk Chicken is very tasteful with the right amount of spice. She enhances her Jerk with her creative innovation Island Delights Everything Sauce made from all natural herbs and spices. Her Everything Sauce has been a big demand in her restaurant, as she uses it to serve with many of her entrées.

As the demand got bigger, Smith decided to bottle her Everything Sauce, as it was too much to keep up with making at the restaurant.  She wanted to make it available to the general public, with the hope of it reaching millions more people.  Smith and her daughter worked tirelessly to navigate the manufacturing process during Covid-19 Pandemic.

In November 2022, they launched their Island Delights Sauce brand with the slogan “is gonna be alright.” This was intentionally placed on the sauce bottles to give people hope for the future, especially small business owners that have struggled or lost hope due to the pandemic.   Smith’s goals are to continue to serve and create more sauces with a variety of flavors that can enhance people’s dishes, even if they aren’t the best of cooks.  Coming soon will be highly anticipated Mango Spicy One Sauce and the tasty Hot Pepper Sauce.
